Lieber Besucher meiner Asia Homepage, Insgesamt mehr als 20 Jahre arbeitete ich "East of Gibraltar" und habe exotische Länder wie u.a. Marokko, den Sudan, Saudi Arabien, Thailand, Lesotho und die Philippinen kennengelernt. Hier sind einige meiner Eindrücke.	Dear visitor of my Homepage, In total more than 20 years I worked "East of Gibraltar" and I got knowledge about exotic countries like e.g. Morocco, The Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Lesotho, and the Philippines. Here are some of my impressions.
Ich habe mich als Diplom-Ingenieur für Glasfasertechnik in diesen Ländern engagiert, weil ich dem kalten Klima Norddeutschlands entkommen wollte. Ich träumte schon als Junge von fernen Ländern.	As professional Fiber Optics Engineer I got engaged in these countries in order to escape the cold climate of North Germany. Already as young boy I dreamed from far-away countries.
	The old home town (Husum) looks the same ... Dieser Eindruck war die fast 14 Jahre gültig, die ich in Riad / Saudi Arabien lebte. Nichts Wesentliches hat sich verändert, dieser Satz gilt auch für die mehr als 3 Jahre davor, die ich in Thailand verbrachte, wo ich auch heute wieder lebe. Aus 4000 km bzw. 9000 km Entfernung beobachtet, verändert sich nur wenig über die Jahre.   This impression is valid for my in total nearly 14 years lasting stay in Riyadh / Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Nothing essential has changed, this phrase is also valid for the more than 3 years of my previous stay in Thailand, where I live again today. Watched from a distance of 4000 km resp. 9000 km, only a few things change over the years.
